The problem

Small and medium retailers run inventory, sales, purchasing and store operations across tools that do not talk to each other. The reconciliation happens in someone's head, at closing time.

The solution

One platform where a sale moves stock, a purchase updates cost, a transfer stays traceable between outlets, and a return reverses all of it correctly.

My contribution

Backend architecture and API design, data modelling for inventory and sales workflows, authentication and role handling, multi-tenancy, and the cloud infrastructure it runs on.

Cloud video streaming infrastructure

Live media AWS Media Services Production support

Supporting and extending a large-scale live streaming service at Craftsmen Ltd., including coverage of major football competitions. Live events have no maintenance window: the fix has to land while the match is playing.

  • Investigated and resolved production streaming issues under event deadlines.
  • Delivered new features and modernised legacy functionality in the streaming path.
  • Provisioned and maintained AWS media resources with Terraform.
  • Worked in observability and alerting around live workflows.

Orchestration engine for cloud media resources

Developed and productized an engine that stands up, runs and tears down AWS resources for a streaming channel from a configurable workflow template — so a channel becomes a described intent rather than a manual sequence of console steps.

  • Template-driven configuration: one description defines the resource set for a workflow.
  • Lifecycle management across the pre-transmission, transmission and post-transmission phases.
  • Event-driven state handling, with failure paths treated as a first-class case.
  • CI/CD with automated testing around every deployment.

PlantViewer — interactive 3D web platform

3D web Three.js Angular Node.js

At BJIT Ltd. I built modules for a 3D web application used to inspect plant models in the browser: a comments manager for annotated screenshots, a markup manager for drawing highlights onto models, a measurement panel for interactive geometry, and a point cloud renderer in Three.js.

Geometry in the browser is a different kind of engineering problem to a request-response API — it taught me to care about frame budgets as much as query plans.

About

Engineer by profession. Builder by curiosity.

I started out writing APIs and reporting modules for e-commerce systems, then spent two years inside a 3D web application — a good place to learn that correctness and performance are the same conversation.

Cloud came next, and it stuck. At Craftsmen I moved from supporting live streaming for major football competitions to building the orchestration engine that provisions the AWS resources those streams run on. Terraform, Lambda, DynamoDB, Media Services — infrastructure as something you describe, review and repeat, rather than click together.

Alongside that I have been building product: Shop 360, a shop management platform, where the interesting problems are as much about how a retailer actually closes their day as about the schema underneath. Architecture, automation, distributed systems, and shipping things people use — that is roughly the whole list.
